To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing in response to your recruitment for a Marine Surveyor.  After reading the on-line job description, I am confident that both my current and past experiences will be a perfect match for this position.

I am currently working as a Remote Hydrographer for David Evans and Associates, Inc.  The skillsets that I have picked up throughout my career at DEA, the Naval Oceanographic Office and NOAA will allow me to successfully integrate into your company.

In addition to my experience working as a Hydrographer, my educational and scientific research background will allow me to bring an interesting perspective to any company.  My broad range of skills and experience have focused on coastal resources, ecosystems, as well as ocean stewardship, including:

·       Leading Eco-Tours in the Northwest Hawaiian Islands where I was able to share my knowledge of the environment’s ecology and its significant Maritime History with tourists from around the world.
·       Monitoring coral reefs and their fish populations.
·       Teaching Marine Science at the college level.
·       Monitoring both ocean water column and sediment chemistry on various projects around the world on a wide range of research platforms.
·       Leading multibeam sonar and GIS mapping surveys in both deep and shallow water environments for hydrographic surveying purposes to update nautical charts.
·       Additional relevant leadership experience includes mentoring and training junior personnel on how to hydrographic survey, as well as coaching and Mentoring endurance athletes to achieve their athletic goals for fundraising purposes for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this position or any other position with you.  Also, if you have questions or would like to schedule an interview, please contact me by phone at 228-547-8207 or by e-mail at tegederj@gmail.com.  I look forward to hearing from you.
